Sacrifice is not a word you often hear about in today’s church.  Properly put, Jesus is our final sacrifice, however what does that leave for His followers today?

The victorious and prosperous Christian life is one that is directly opposed to the world’s values.  Where the world says “indulge” the Christian say “abstain,” where the world say “enjoy” the Christian says “fast,” where the world says “take” the Christian says “sacrifice” – at least we ought to know what Christian sacrifice looks like.

Paul leads the Philippians into a picture of his heart of his sacrifice and imprisonment on their behalf.  He once again helps us, as the church today, restructure how we are to think of our place in following Christ on this-side of eternity.
