Grace is unique to Christianity, and grace is dependent upon the resurrection of Jesus. God has validated our Savior’s life and death as sufficient in the complete victory over sin and death, and He now invites us to live under that fulfillment – to live under grace.
Observations & Conclusions: How is sin no longer my master? Because…
- Grace means righteousness is already imputed
- Grace means sin is defeated
- Grace means we have transferred ownership
- Grace means Resurrection
- Grace means rest NOT works
Application: Living under Grace means…
- Treat sin like a rash
– attention – get help – repeat treatment – stop the spread – rehab - Live with an expectant hope while we wait for Jesus
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure
His power has no boundary known unto men
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again
1 Corinthians 15:16-22
“For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
1 Corinthians 9:20-21
“To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.”
Romans 3:23-24
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
Romans 5:20
“The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.”
Romans 6:18
“You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
