What is God’s plan for the nations? Does He want some or all? Psalm 67 makes it clear that God’s rule is the end goal of receiving the worship of all people groups, languages, and tribes.
Daniel 7:14
And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.
Genesis 12:2-3
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
Observation
#1 – The scope of God’s praise is all peoples
#2 – The purpose of God’s blessings is evangelism
#3 – The goal is that all nations worship
#4 – The result of global praise is God’s rule
An “Unreached” people group is a people group where there is no indigenous community of believing Christians able to evangelize this people group.
1. There is more beauty and power in praise that comes from unity in diversity, rather than from unity alone.
2. The fame and greatness and worth of an object of beauty increases proportionally to the diversity of those who recognize its beauty.
3. The strength and wisdom and love of a leader is magnified in proportion to the diversity of people he can inspire to follow him with joy.
4. By focusing on all peoples, God levels ethnocentric pride to gather people according to his grace alone, and not any distinctives of their own.
Conclusion:
1. Pray for God’s blessing in your life for missions
2. Let the worship of God by all nations be the goal
3. Desire the rule of God over the whole earth
Application:
- How are you aiming your prayers?
- How are you using your blessings?
- How flexible are you with worship?
- How is God’s rule evident in your life?
- How is God’s rule spreading by your worship?
What can I do?
