The Good News

The Good News

One of the most most grievous events a Christian can witness is when a long time standing member of a church denies the faith and walks away from God.  This trend is happening more today than ever before, and we believe it’s largely due to a misunderstanding of the gospel.

The root of our faith is found in the historical reality of the resurrection and how God has provided life through His Son.  Let’s examine some unique contrasts about the gospel or “good news” that can be clear seen when held up against how our world today views authority.

Observations & Conclusions:

  1. The good news isn’t something you choose, its something you receive
  2. The good news isn’t “beneficial” it is true
  3. The good news isn’t about moral teaching it is about the resurrection
  4. The good news isn’t something man created it is something man has witnessed
  5. The good news isn’t optional to our faith, it must be passed on

Application:

The good news must be

  1. Received
  2. Kept – “stood upon”
  3. Practiced – “held firmly”
