The Good News: Testimony

The Good News: Testimony

People are so eager to share the latest news with their friends – so why is it so hard for some people to share the “Good News”?  Might it be because we find a fearful disconnect in our own lives between the message and our own adherence to live as a Christ-follower.

If we lose the center of the gospel as a message of God’s grace and turn it into a demand of works we will always shy away from sharing.  It is the offer of a new life, freely given, that must both be explained and modeled.  Giving your life to Jesus, means living the new life in Him.

Conclusions:

  1. Your testimony will be conditioned by your perspective
  2. Your testimony will be displayed by your lifestyle
  3. Your testimony will include a purpose for this life
    1. (1) – The good news (a) “brought life” (b) “destroyed death
    2. (2) – The good news transforms YOUR LIFE!

Application:

GIVE your life to God and LIVE by the Spirit

1 John 2:15-17

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

Hebrews 11:24-26

“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.”
