The proclamation of the gospel today is often non-existent in the face of contemporary values. The exclusive claims of Christ are offensive in our world of tolerance. But as has been said, “facts don’t care about your feelings.”
For the very first Christians, gospel preaching was simply a proclamatory witness of the death and resurrection of Jesus. This wasn’t a cursory subject or an optional add-on, it was the center of their message, and it still is today.
