Although the process of parenting is never over, there comes a realistic conclusion that has been prescripted by God.  The challenge and the blessing of helping our children spread their wings and yet remain under the wings of our Lord is beyond our ability – it is a task we need God’s help to accomplish. 

Observations & Conclusions:

1. Independence – Raise them to leave properly
2. Dependence – Raise them toward cooperation with their spouse
3. In-Dependence – Raise them to find fulfillment in God

Application: 

1. Move towards Meat
2. Grow in Grace
3. Listen for the Lord

1 Samuel 8:1-3 

“When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.”
