The title of Immanuel is often head at Christmas, yet for those it was prophesied to it had a very different context than what our contemporary Christmas traditions impose.
Observations:
- The judgment over God’s people is a judgement over that which belongs to God
- The reminder that “God is with us” changes everything
- To have “God is with us” in defeat is actually victory
Conclusions:
- That which belongs to God will be saved by God
