Purity in Pollution and God’s Provision

Purity in Pollution and God’s Provision

The task of the church to evaluate and confront the errors of ungodly behaviors and teachings is not a popular challenge today. Where sexual immorality has become accepted in our world, the church must be careful that it does not fail in discerning the difference between godly and ungodly actions. If we do fail to deal with it, God will deal with us for it.

Observations & Conclusions:
1. God cares about your faith AND your behavior
2. God wants the church to deal with its people who hold to worldly influences
3. Taking a stand begins with repentance
4. Taking a stand can only happen with a dependence upon God’s provision
5. Not taking a stand means (1) the infection will spread
6. Not taking a stand means (2) God’s judgment

Application:
Speak the truth in love – Ep 4:15
– Who are you surrounding yourself with? What are voices that regularly influence you?
– What are some things that people “worship” today, or put before God?
– How is the church facing corruption from the inside out?
– What is it in your life that God is asking you to “deal with”? What do you need to take a stand on?

1 Corinthians 15:33

“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

James 4:17

“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
