The goodness of God is everlasting. When we fail to ground our worship of God in His nature we will be like a boat tossed about by the waves. But when we anchor our worship of God to the rock of his being we will find praise and thanksgiving in abundance. 

Definition: Omnibenevolence = The ethical character of God to both do and define the good without fail  

Observations:

1. Omnibenevolence is the invitation to express God’s goodness in worship
2. The center of this Psalm is the worshipper’s relational confession of possession
3. God’s omnibenevolence is the root of our thanks and praise
4. God’s goodness is the summation of His character
5. God’s goodness is evidentially recognized as enduring love

Conclusions: 

1. God’s goodness is not based off our circumstances, it is based of His nature
   – The Epicurean Paradox
   – The Euthyphro Dilemma
2. Thanksgiving isn’t based off our circumstances, but rather God’s nature
3. The joy of worshiping God as good begins by acknowledging Him as your personal Lord 

Application: 

1. Reframe your circumstances around God’s loving protective omnibenevolence
2. Thank God for His goodness
3. Praise God for His goodness

Psalm 145:8-9

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.”

Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
