The Great Commission from our Lord offers the church the necessary means of making disciples. However, we as followers of Jesus are still deficient in transforming the hearts of lost. We requires supernatural power that can only be provided by God.
- Orthodoxy and Orthopraxy are not enough, we need the power of God’s Spirit
Observations: Where does the Spirit show up in making disciples?
- “Teaching them to obey everything…” Spirit – John 14:26; 16:13-15
- “Baptizing them in the name of…” Spirit – Acts 1:4-5; 1 Co 12:13
- “I am with you always” Spirit – John 14:16-17
Conclusions:
- Only the Spirit has the power to equip you to make disciples
- Only the Spirit has the power to regenerate an unbelieving heart
- The Spirit will be with you always
- The Spirit is God
Application:
- Be sure to follow Jesus’ orders in making disciples with (1) right thinking, leading to (2) right living, by the (3) power and indwelling of the Holy Spirit
- Pray that…
1. the Spirit would change the hearts of those you minister to
2. the Spirit would change you and equip you to make disciples

During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
