The message of Jesus is an illuminating message. But Jesus doesn’t just say that His message is light, He declares that HE is the light of the world.
This contrast between “light” and “darkness” is a polarizing comparison. There’s no room in the middle – either you’re in the light and following Jesus, or you’re not following Jesus and remain in darkness.
