This Sunday we got to start the new year off with a celebration and recognition of those students who have both committed to and completed their Confirmation Classes. Part of their graduation involved sharing with the congregation their “Life Verses” – passages from God’s Word that they feel speak in a special way into their lives.
In addition to those verses, the students had to memorize the Apostles’ Creed, the 10 Commandments and the Lord’s Prayer. Finally, each of them took part in helping to lead our Sunday morning Worship Service.
The real “graduation” of confirmation is a community recognition of these young people to come alongside the rest of us and mutual worshippers of God and servants to the body of Christ. We are so proud of each of them, and thank God for their profession of faith in Jesus and participation in the cooperate worship of the community of believers.
