With the summer wrapping up, the Bait Shop in Channing was working through selling their final inventory of ice cream, and in generosity to our youth at Grace, they offered all the proceeds to the youth group fund if our youth would volunteer to help serve.
Well, that was all it took to find all the kids in the surrounding neighborhoods come in droves for free ice cream and the opportunity to work in the Bait Shop. There were so many children that they had to break into shifts, so that some would be eating ice cream outside and the rest would be serving inside.
Additionally, the community came out in support of the Kennard’s generosity and donated over $500 to our youth program. Originally, CJ was nervous that they might not have enough ice cream, but as it turned out, with or without the tasty treats our community is stalwart in helping our young people. Special thanks to everyone who came out to serve, and to all those who gave, and especially to the Bait Shop for this generous opportunity.
