To commemorate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem we celebrated with our traditional Palm Sunday service. The key message of the morning worship was Jesus as the “cornerstone.” Giving our attention to the crowds while they offered praise to Jesus on that glorious morning as he rode on the back of a colt, we gave careful evaluation to our own praise, and self-examination to make sure that we are honoring Jesus in obedience and sincerity.
Although the cries of “Hosanna” touch a special place in our hearts, we must recall the change of tune from the crowd only 1 week later. May God help us to be offering more to Jesus than “lip-service” – that he would instead be the Ruler of our hearts!
