Our first ever Annual Fishing Derby was held this year at Lake Eddy at the Sagola Township Sportsman’s Club in memorial of Mark Flunker. Despite the drizzling rain we had a over 20 anglers show up to see who could land the trophy fish.
Special thanks to Bob and CJ Kennard for their indispensable help in the planning and execution of the event, as well as providing donations, food, and prizes to all the participants.
We stopped counting after 50 fish were caught with some individuals catching more than a dozen in the course of our 3 hour tournament. But when the final minute struck, whatever was on the stringer was on the stringer! At the end it came down to a matter of millimeters to determine a winner.
The Grace Presbyterian Fishing Derby Champion is going to be announced at this month’s Community Meal, where we’ll be serving a “Fish Fry!” Come on over for some good food and fellowship and to congratulate this year’s Champion!
Community Meal is Wednesday July 26th at 5:30pm at Sagola Community Center
